“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible” – Tony Robbins

What are you craving for in your life for 2018? And how do you, more importantly, set yourself up for success?

New Year’s resolutions are rife with failure. We so often have big intentions and then quickly fall off the bandwagon.

With respect to sticking to your intentions and getting what you want, I have a couple of quick tips:

  • Set goals that are in alignment with your Values – We’re all more effective when our goals line up with the things that matter most to us. When we have values-based goals we are intrinsically motivated (that is our motivation comes from within us). When something matters to us deeply our motivation is stronger.

  • DREAM BIG, plan small – Too often with our New Year’s intentions, we decide to aim for something BIG. We want to run a marathon, lose 100lbs or start an online business. But we fail to put in place the marker points. I’m all for dreaming big but a journey is made of 1,000 steps, and if we forget to put in smaller goals and interim measures of success, we typically lose motivation.

  • Believe that YOU CAN – I think we’ve all been prone to setting a goal that we really didn’t think was possible, and not thinking it’s all that realistic is terminal to motivation. Why try if you already know you’re not going to make it? Set goals that might stretch you, but you believe are doable. And if you don’t believe your Big Dream goals are doable yet, start with acing the smaller steps (see above).

  • Set Up Your Self-Reflection – It’s dangerous to set an intention at the beginning of the year and then forget all.about.it. So keep it front of mind. What do you want for 2018? Make sure your hopes, dreams and intentions stay IN YOUR FACE. And I’d strongly encourage you to set up a monthly reflection point where you check in with yourself and make note of your progress. Keep a special notebook or a running word document, but self-reflection is like coming back and checking your roadmap frequently so that you don’t get too far off course.

>>> In January 2018 I’m running a Live Workshop Series. I’m taking a small group through 4 weeks of Clarity Inducing Personal Development & Intention Setting. I truly excited about this one!! It’s a small and intimate group-program that’s much more cost effective than working with my 1-1 (but you’ll get the same teachings and a boatload of attention too). The workshops & exercises will guide you to Identify Your Driving ValuesConnect With Your Inner Guidance, & Set Clear Intentions for 2018. If you’re ready to kick off the New Year on the right foot and would appreciate a little bit of guidance and structure, head here to read more: www.thrive.how/reboot <<<

I can already feel the energy of the New Year sweeping in. With a little bit of gentle intention setting now you can be sure to make it a beautiful one! Kate xx
